Mother's Day ....

March 2010

Was does -your- mother get?

Dear Subscriber ,

Mother’s Day is coming fast *(next Sunday!), but there’s still time to find the perfect gift. Chocolates are a must, maybe a bottle of wine, but it’s flowers that a mother expects and appreciates time and time again.

Some people say it’s a life sentence being a Mum and I revel in the opportunity to spoil her in return for everything she does for me. Whatever your relationship with your own mother, this is your chance to give a message of thanks and appreciation.

Our florists have excelled themselves this year, with a range of Mother’s Day bouquets to suit any budget. We’ve got stylish, modern bunches that use soft roses to symbolise tenderness, as well as traditional rustic bouquets that light up any room and are sure to make your Mum smile.

What’s more, our bunches are deep in meaning. We’ve used flowers with a common theme of love, innocence and thanks – just the things mum’s love to hear! And now, just because we feel like it, we will get your mum a stylish vase for free! Use code MUMVASE at checkout!

So, this Mother’s Day, treat your mum with a beautiful gift that says all the things you don’t say enough! I for one will be doing the same!

Yours sincerely,

Peter

The Mother of all Days

While there’s no doubt that your gift of flowers will be well-received, it’s called Mother’s Day because it’s supposed to go on for longer than a few hours! Here are a few ideas of things to do with your mum on this special day.

Why not start the day as you mean to go on, with a message of appreciation? Give her a call to wish her a happy day – don’t just say it when you turn up at the house!

Don’t let mum do any cooking! Take her out for a meal somewhere she likes and be sure it’s all on you. If budget is an issue, let her put her feet up while you make her a nice Sunday roast. Who knows, maybe you could convince your dad to help!

Why not spend the day shopping? You could set a budget in your head and take your mum on an afternoon shopping spree – but make sure you do all the driving!

If you have kids of your own, perhaps they could be convinced to give her a hand-made, personal card. As well as being a wonderful gift, your mum will have a lovely keepsake in years to come to remember when the grandkids were sweet and thoughtful!

Perhaps there are other mothers to be seen! You could take your mum on a road trip to see her own mum, her sister, or any other family members she hasn’t seen in a while. She’ll be appreciate of your thoughtfulness and – best of all – there’ll be less pressure on you to keep her entertained!

You could settle in for a DVD afternoon, picking a couple of films that are her favourite tear-jerkers! Get the popcorn, dim the lights and let her have a lazy afternoon in front of the TV.

In the evening, you could book tickets to see a show at the theatre or even for the cinema. A lot of cinemas have special Mother’s Day films, so it’s worth checking your local listings for a cost-effective evening out! As for theatre, why not try a musical?

Whatever you do this Mother’s Day, do it all for her. Whatever your budget, it’s the thought that counts and the message of appreciation that your mum’s sure to remember.

Kind regards, Alejandro
